Santanyi on the island Mallorca

At the southernmost Zipfel of Mallorca the town Santanyi belongs. The place would know its name after the holy lamb of God Santi Annini or also Sant Agnini. In the area of the today's Santanyi humans already lived from praehistorischer time which by finds were occupied. The place originated in approximately in 4. Century in Roman time. Today about 12,000 humans live outside of the place are busy in Santanyi. The tourism left not yet as its traces in the place as differently where on mallorca.

Santanyi should visit one in any case and once by the close lanes with its yellow sandstone houses saunter. Here by the way also the Mares stone comes, a granite stone for the building of the many buildings on Mallorca was used.

Worth seeing:
In 18. Century was built the church Sant Andreu Apostol of Antonio Mesquida. In the church is an organ of the famous Spanish organ farmer Jordi Bosch. In the organ weeks regularly taking place in the church one can listen to its sound.

Porta Murada
At the local exit toward Palma is last received town-gate of Santanyi. As part it served a weir system as protection from Pirates.

Weekly markets
Each Wednesday and Saturday take place in Santanyi weekly markets.
