Arta
In the east far away from Mallorca some kilometers from the
sea the place Arta lies. Arta has about 7,000 inhabitants. To
reach we know Arta with the car over that about 21 km removed
Manacor. Already of widths one recognizes the citadel with the
pilgrimage church Sant Salvador on a mountain height. In Arta
are traces of oldest settlement from 100 before Christ were
found. The place of close lanes, palms overgrown places and
gardens is coined/shaped. Restaurants and cafes invite to

Each Tuesday takes place in Arta the weekly market.
Worth seeing
Citadel and church Sant Salvador
Originally it concerned a maurischen palace of king of the
Jaume I. in 13. Century to a citadel was converted. In the
pilgrimage church a painting on that finds the delivery
Mallorca by the Mauri king at king Jaume the I. to see is.
Ses Paisses
Southeast from Arta a Talayoti settlement lies from the time
1000 before Christ. Well received are from this time still
walls, gates and an awake tower.
Ermita de Betlem
About 9 km von Arta far away, is the hermits Ermita de
Betlem. In the year 1805 by a settlers based still today monk
manages the monastery. To the monastery a small pilgrimage
church belongs, inside the church is a wood figure equipped
with a noble garb, which was donated by the Kapuziner monks
from Palma de Mallorca.

On 16 July in Arta the celebration of the protection holy
fisherman is celebrated.
Nuestra Senyora de Esperanza
On 18 December of each yearly eibn celebration is celebrated
in honours of the protection patronin by Arta.

The Finca it Serral
Somewhat outside of the city centre one finds this rustikale
fish restaurant.
Here one is spoiled with native kitchen, was unfortunately
closed the Finca it Serral between November and February.
