Andratx on the island Mallorca

In the western part of Mallorca the 8,000 souls municipality Andratx lies. Surrounded by the Galatzo mountains are it here not like that drying like differently where on Mallorca. Wells and parks coin/shape the townscape of Andratx, why the place was called in earlier time also garden city. Worth seeing:
From the year 1236 the church Santa Maria originates. It reminds with its appearance rather of a fortress as to a church. Because in earlier centuries Andratx was often the victim of Pirates attack. Then the inhabitants fled themselves into the church those nearly windowless protection offered.

Weekly markets
The weekly market finds each Wednesday in Andratx. Since above all souvenirs and cheap things for holiday-makers are sold here, it can become very full on the market. Do not look for those for guests to recommend the original Mallorca.

On 17 January Sant Antonio and on 29 June is celebrated Sant Pere in Andratx.
