Castell d'Alaró
The Arabs mentioned it castle of the Christians. Eight years, when
these conquered Majorca at the beginning of the 10th century, it
is supposed to have resisted to the attacks of the Moors. From now
on she was the Arab in the possession. These kept on extending the
fortress. In the year 1231 the Arabs gave up the fortress and from
now on it was again in the possession of the Christians. Why the
Arabs is handed over them peacefully not clarified until today.
One further attack followed 1285 onto the Castell d´Alaró through
the Aragonese king Alfons II. After some years it created the
takeover. In 1349 the last conquest occurred through Pere IV. the
Castell d'Alaró and became the ruin.
Celebrations, celebrations, holidays
Fiesta Sant Roc on 16th August goes a week and is the most
important celebration in the whole year. The dances are the climax
at those ones women as men accelerate and old dances would drive
up.
